Italy Honors Indian Soldiers

Italy paid tribute today to the 5,782 Indian soldiers who fought for Italy against the fascists during World War II.  About 50,000 Indian troops fought in Italy during the war.  Most were between the ages of 18 and 22.

The soldiers helped liberate Perugia, Luca, Florence, San Marino, Cesena, Forli, Ferrara and Bologna.
